What is EPP foam? Foam products that we often use in our lives can be divided into several categories, EPS foam, EPE foam, EPP foam, etc. EPP is expanded polypropylene, which is a new type of foam plastic. EPP is a polypropylene plastic foam material that has become the fastest-growing new compression-resistant cushioning insulation material with its unique and superior properties. EPP is also an environmentally friendly material that can be recycled and reused, can be naturally degraded, does not cause white pollution, and is widely used in many industries.
EPP foam is light in weight and large in size, which will cause certain difficulties during storage and transportation. This is why EPP foam recycling is more difficult. The structure of EPP is harder than that of EPS, so more powerful equipment must be used.
The main recycling method of EPP foam is compression. The compressed material can reduce the volume of the foam, which solves the transportation problem caused by the large volume and light weight of EPP.
After sorting, the recyclable parts will be processed for subsequent processing. Of course, EPP materials are 100% completely recyclable and can all be processed for subsequent processing.
Equipment for compressing and processing EPP materials is divided into two types according to different compression methods, namely cold foam compactors and foam hot melt machines.
The cold-pressed foam compactor can easily process EPP waste. When using a cold-pressed compressor, the EPP foam waste is transported to the feeding hopper by belt conveyor, and then use screw hydraulic pressure to compress the crushed materials into blocks.
Foam hot melt machines and foam screw compactors have something in common, that is, they both need to crush foams. The difference is that the hot melt machine uses electric heating to melt the foam into blocks after crushing.
